K-Pop stars flocked to the Seoul Olympic Park Stadium on December 14th to attend the ‘2012 MelOn Music Awards‘.

The awards show, which began in 2009 and is now entering its 4th year, established itself as one of the big four music awards ceremonies in South Korea alongside the ‘Mnet Asian Music Awards‘, ‘Golden Disk Awards‘, and ‘Seoul Music Awards‘.

The award winners of the top ’2012 MelOn Music Awards’ were chosen by calculating the number of downloads and streams (80%) as well as online votes (20%) with the exception of: the Global Artist Award (50% YouTube score & 50% online votes), and Netizen Popularity Award (20% downloads and streams & 80% online votes), as well as the Songwriter Award and MBC Music Star Awards (special judge votes).

The 2012 event was hosted by B2ST‘s Kikwang, INFINITE‘s Woohyun, Moon Hee Jun (H.O.T), and Danny Ahn (g.o.d).
